I should probably consider NOT watching emotionally-charged World Cup matches by myself. When I am with someone else I have a calm running commentary, but when I am by myself I tend to a) scream, b) jump up and down and those two things lead inevitably to c) getting too emotionally involved. I think hormones have something to do with it too, but I just teared up when the US only got the tie with Slovenia.
The ref was the WORST I have ever seen. And I am not just saying that because I wanted America to win and because he was calling mythical fouls on them. He was also giving out yellow cards like Halloween candy to the Slovenians AND called a handball on a player that not only didn't touch the ball with his hand, but instead got smashed in the face with it. The worst call of the night was by far when the US scored it's 3rd and winning goal and the ref disallowed it. The commentators replayed the goal over and over and there was no offsides from any angle and definitely no fouls committed by the Americans. Lest I get more emotionally involved, I will end this here by saying that the ref, Koman Coulibaly, is the worst ref on Earth. And I am done.
Whew! With that rant over, I can say that my daughter can definitely hear me because when I was screaming at the ref's calls, I not only made my dogs jump, but Abby too! I felt her jump, stay still for a second and then start kicking! Poor Abby. She needs to get used to her crazy soccer fan mom because based on how she is kicking in there, she may just end up playing soccer herself and if so, I'll be just as loud on the sidelines of her game! (And let's pray she never has Koman Coulibaly as her ref! LOL!!)

It's a girl!!! I'm so excited! I'm jumping up and down, you can't see me but I'am. My eyeballs were mysteriously sweaty while I was looking at the sonogram pictures of Abby's face. Oh my gosh, her name is Abby and she has an adorable face! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised that your little girl is already kickin' butt, or I should say kickin' tummy. I love the pictures and I love technology!
Haha LAUREN! It took me a second to get what you were saying because my initial thought was "eyes don't sweat...they can't. They have no sweat glands." THEN I was like "Riiiiight," LOL! I LOVE YOU! Thanks for checking out my blog and thanks for being YOU! xoxo
ReplyDeletePoor Abby? Please! Sounds like that girl can't wait to get her hands on some baby shin guards!
ReplyDeleteNicole, you are right. It is true. The ultrasound tech watched her kick and said she had some of the strongest kicks she'd seen! Today I will look into what the youngest age is that I can legally sign my kids up for sports LOL! :)
