Baby Shower, Week 35 Pictures and Some Baby Pictures

So we had the baby shower this past weekend and it was a blast!  It was so much fun to see all my friends in one spot and just enjoy talking with everyone and laughing.  All my friends are amazing!  We were blessed with so many wonderful presents for Abby and everyone brought books so that Abby now has almost a complete bookshelf full of books just for her!  I've already read her a few and she kicked through all the stories, so hopefully that means she already likes reading!  And she also got so many practical items that we were in desperate need of...for example, we didn't have ONE newborn-sized diaper and now we have more than 150+!!  Oh and 900 wipes!

We played a few cute games like "Never Say Baby" where you receive a necklace with a baby safety pin and you can't say the word "baby" or someone can call you on it and take your necklace away.  The lady with the most necklaces at the end of the shower wins, in our case it was Alison (she was very good at this game).  Then we played "Complete the Nursery Rhyme" and learned that these days not many of us know a lot of the really old rhymes and why would we want to...they are so morbid [see: meaning of Ring Around the Rosy]!  We also played baby trivia and even with all the mommies and expectant mommies in the room, out of 20 questions I believe that average amount of correct answers was like 9!  LOL!  And finally, my friend Brittney gave me the idea of playing "Dress the Baby" where the party splits into groups of three and picks one girl to be dressed up like a baby in a diaper and bonnet using nothing but toilet paper.  It was HILARIOUS!!  Then we had a runway show of the fashions and I had to pick which team won.  It was so hard to choose since all the ladies looked so fabulous, but Team Stephanie Levy won!

I have pictures of the whole shower but I didn't want to upload all the baby shower photos to this site because there were too many, so I just added them to my Flickr account which you can view HERE.

At the shower a lot of the girls kept saying that can't wait to see what Abby looks like since Rock and I look so different.  There are an endless combination of characteristics she could get, and as we all know from my last blog post, she has the same facial features as Rock, but she could have my fair skin color, eyes and hair, or any mix thereof.  I decided to circulate some pictures around the party of the two of us when we were kids so they can see what Abby's personality might be like.  As you will see below, Rock was a cute and well-composed child and while I might have been cute, I definitely brought the crazy:

This is what happened when I was allowed to dress myself

This is a more subdued version of me but I am still rocking the moon boots and wonky pigtails!  This is a copy of a Polaroid my mom and I took for my dad while he was out in the field in Alaska

That's it for now.  I will count all the baby shower pictures on the Flickr account as my Week 35 pictures and will post some more belly pictures after this Saturday.  Have a great (short!) week!
