Baby Kisses

Abby gave me a real kiss today and not an open-mouthed, slobber kiss (even though both are just as sweet!!) and I caught it in a photo!  Every time I see it, it makes my heart melt:

I also have been getting into a few more crafts.  I made and felted my own purple wool dryer ball and I also added a few accents of teal wool and hunter green wool hearts.  It was fun, easy and cheap, so I will definitely be doing it again.  The added bonus is that Abby can play with the dryer balls I make as toys, too!  It's a win-win-win-win situation!!  I found the instructions on how to make them on YouTube.

OK, so I also have a confession: I am obsessed with reading Mormon Mommy blogs!  They are just so positive and full of great craft, family and often style ideas and I love it all.  The focus is family and since that is where I find my focus these days, I figure "when in Rome."  I got a great idea from one of the Mormon Mommy blogs, called "Everyday Mom Ideas," to make homemade coasters.  It was actually a guest blogger for that particular craft, and not that it really matters, but I am not 100% this particular blogger is Mormon.  Anyway, she has three boys, is smart and funny and finds time to make great things and is beautiful to boot!  Her blog is definitely a favorite of mine. Her blog is called "Ink Blots & Polka Dots" and the particular craft can be found under "DIY Coasters & Magnets"

I have said for YEARS we needed coasters, however I am loath to buy them because they often warp and get ruined from condensation and honestly, coasters just don't make it to the top of my shopping list while I am out.  Anyway, this particular mom stamped her tiles and I used scrapbook rub-on designs, but the effect is the same.  I really like the end result:

The marble tiles were $3 for a pack of 9 at Lowe's, the rub-on designs were on sale for $1.50 at Hobby Lobby and the cork bottoms were $1.50 per pack, so I can make nine coasters (that won't warp) for $6!  I like the author's idea of giving them as hostess gifts, too.  A fun, personal and economical idea.

Abby is sleeping in my lap right now and I was just looking at her hair.  It is so cute right now because it is in that awkward in-between phase where it isn't long enough to lay flat so it kind of just sticks out from her head.  I love running my fingers over her little tufts and kissing them.  I am getting all the loving in I can now in preparation for the day when I am not cool enough to hang out with her!

I am off to get ready for bed myself.  Night!
