Summertime Fun

My parents were in town for the Fourth of July and we had a lot of fun seeing them, eating BBQ and getting frozen yogurt before they headed out the next day for some appointments they had.  I had an outfit all picked out and ready for Abby to wear for her first Fourth, but my mom bought her this ADORABLE flag dress with matching capris and headband, so she wore that instead. People LOVED her outfit and came up to us just to tell us how cute they thought she was! :)

The bottle in her hand is an old-fashioned, IBC Root Beer bottle...not beer.  Just FYI.  

This past weekend, Abby and I went to my friend Conchita's baby shower and I have a pretty funny picture from the shower that I wanted to share.  It is a picture of me with the string I cut in the "guess the size of the belly" game (I cut way too much) and it made me laugh because I remember from my shower when some of my friends cut WAY too much string and I was always thinking "I wonder if I would be able to accurately cut a string to fit around a friends's belly."  And the answer is no.  :)  Here is the picture:

Abby will be EIGHT months this week!  I am so glad I made this blog and that I have kept up with it because I LOVE looking back at it and seeing how my bump grew and all the pictures of Abby once she got here.  I hope I can always keep up with it so Abby has a running narrative on our lives together.  

I also hope everyone has a great week and a nice air conditioned place to be...we ALREADY have heat advisories for the next few days here, so Abby and I are going to just chill and maybe siesta during the hottest parts of the next couple of days.
