12 Weeks and Potty Training Update

This past week has gone by very quickly and today I am 12 Weeks pregnant with Little Stevens #2!

Here are some pictures I took last night (11W6D) because I wanted to prove that I do still get dressed (every now and then haha):

The last image is to show you what it looks like when I am not holding my dress down around my belly...you can just make out my bump!

Rock had to work most of July 4th for his company-run concession stand booth at Fort Hood's Freedom Fest, so Abby and I just took it easy and she watched "Rango" about five times in a row!  She will sit still for about 45 minutes of the first showing and then the rest of the time, she just likes it on in the background so she can come in and out of the living room and watch it in between playing in her play room.  Abby and I got to see fireworks and while she thought the explosions in the distance were pretty, she was NOT a fan of the loud fireworks!  She kept hiding in my lap which is something unusual for my usually intrepid toddler!

Here are two photos I snapped of us on the couch after coming in from watching the fireworks:

It was a beautiful night with a great breeze...perfect for watching fireworks, but still a little humid as you can tell by my hair.

My giggling goofball!

Abby has been diaper free for 1 week and 2 days and I just can't believe it yet!  Yesterday I packed up all her diapers, cloth wipes, changing table mat and diaper creams and brought them upstairs to store until BS2 gets here!

We have gone out to run errands/have lunch/go to appointments every day since Monday, and I am happy and very proud to announce that Abby has had no accidents while we have been out.  I have made a conscious effort to bring her to the bathroom at the stores or restaurants to try and avoid accidents, but soon I am going to have to let her tell me when she has to go potty, because she has to learn to listen to her body's cues even while we are out and about and busy.

One of the best things I bought that has helped us while we are out and about is a foldable potty seat.  It folds up nicely into a plastic pouch and fits into a diaper bag.  It has saves us from having to do the "dangle-and-pee" over the toilet seat and it helps Abby get more comfortable going potty other places other than our house.

Abby picked out the Disney Princes version of this same folding potty seat

I also bought some Gerber Waterproof Training Pants Covers to put over her undies when we are out as an added precaution.  Those darn things are so loud and hot though that I probably won't be using them too much longer.  Her poor little buns were sweating so badly yesterday at Walmart that I just brought her to the bathroom and took them off.

Abby still has her moments of reluctance about going poopy in the potty until the VERY last moment.  She'll play this game where she will tell me she has to go, but once she gets up on the potty she will not want to go, so she will tell me she is all done and get down.  She'll do this back and forth until she realizes that she REALLY has to go and then she will get on and do her business.  I am not too worried about this because it is clear she knows that she has to go poopy, but it is probably still pretty odd for her right now since she is used to going while being able to walk around, squat, etc.

OB appointment update: Baby Stevens #2 is doing wonderfully with a strong heartbeat in the 160 bpm range.  The midwife let Abby help find the heartbeat with the fetal doppler and afterward Abby gave my belly a big kiss for her brother/sister.  It was so sweet!

Rock's parents get here today to visit for the weekend so I need to go make sure everything is ready for them.  Have a great weekend!
