I took a lot this week because I feel like he has grown SO much in the last week! I can feel him moving so much more now and definitely more forcefully and my ribs are starting to hurt again, which means he must be growing upward.

Happy October!
We started off October properly by waking up in our Halloween jammies!! Abby loved her glow-in-the-dark kitty shirt and showing it off to me while she ate her yogurt.
The next day, the weather was amazingly cool, so we spent the whole morning outside going on a walk, playing at the park, and looking for bugs, frogs and turtles. We ended the amazing morning with a trip to Chik-fil-A, to Abby's overwhelming approval.
On Wednesday we went to my OB appointment with the doctor and my doula, Sarah, came with us. I should have known I would psych myself out because the whole time we were waiting to have the nurse come take my blood pressure, I kept thinking about how much I didn't want my blood pressure to be high and of course, I was making myself super anxious thinking that. Well, sure enough, while my blood pressure wasn't clinically "high" it was in the prehypertension range and because of that, they want me to see an OB doctor instead of a midwife from now on. I was pretty upset because I really liked the midwife I was seeing and I have good reason to believe that the higher blood pressure readings have to do with the fact that every time they take the reading, Abby is crying (she doesn't like doctor offices for obvious reasons) and then when Abby calms down, and they take the reading again, my BP is within the normal range.
Anyway, I spoke to my dad and Rock and they both recommended that I go to a few appointments without Abby and to get there early and read or listen to music or meditate so that I could be in a relaxed state when they take my blood pressure.
I was also upset because the doctor told me that they'd probably have me come in two times per week for a nonstress test (NST) starting at Week 32 to make sure the baby was OK. Now, I know they want to do this all to make sure that me and Shane are OK, but I think a part of me knows that nothing is "wrong" since I have not even had a high reading, just borderline high, and there was always an explanation for the higher reading, and once I was relaxed, my BP was fine. Anyway, I am going to take my dad and Rock up on their advice and go to my next appointment alone, and hopefully I won't work myself up too much thinking about how I want my BP to be normal.
My girl after a can of soup fell on her nose while she was helping me put away groceries in the pantry.
Goofing around like usual.
After two days of super cool temperatures (by Central Texas standards), the weather warmed up a bit and our Bella, loved it. She spent much of the day sunbathing in our backyard like this:
We call this Bella's "sausage" pose.
And Abby spent the morning doing some poses of her own:
Rock had today off, but he had to go in to work to work on a paper, so Abby and I spent the day organizing toys, clothes and other things all in an effort to get ready for brother. I love that Abby likes to help me clean because it is going to completely satisfy my nesting needs before Shane gets here.
I am super excited because we are going to the Texas Renaissance Festival this Sunday during what Texans are calling a "cold snap," aka, highs in the low 60s. Renaissance festivals always remind me of Fall and Rock and I went to one every year up in Maryland, so it is sort of like a Fall family tradition now. We already told Abby we were going to see the King, Queen and horses to which she explained: "I EXCITED!!" Rock's sister Frances is going to meet us there, too, so we are also excited to spend the day with her. I will be sure to take a lot of photos!

I feel your pain on the blood pressure thing....mine is just always high at the doctor's office period but is fine all other times. I definitely psych myself out about it! I definitely think it will be good to go without Abby...this is a stressful age trying to keep them out of trouble so that definitely doesn't help keep you calm! - Angie S.
