Week 33 (and One Day)

So last weekend Rock and I went to Maryland's Renaissance Festival in Annapolis and it was a BEAUTIFUL day...barely a cloud in the sky and 70 degrees!  We had a lot of fun looking at all the stalls and shows (sword swallower, bands) but the best part about those things hands down is the people watching.  We were there for a little over 3 hours and the better part of it was spent just gawking.  I saw a lady that had to have been in her late 50s standing with who I assume was her decent-looking husband--she was wearing a pair of jeans...and a chainmail bra and nothing else (like the picture above but a lot more skimpy).  The bra consisted of a single row of chainmail straps and band and came around to the front where two palm sized metal plates covered her (un)lovely lady lumps.  It always baffles me how crazy people get when they assume it's OK to be bizarre (e.g., Halloween and Renaissance Festivals).  While we were there, we were walking by a booth where you could throw a ball and dunk a lady.  The guy was yelling to get people to come play and he saw Rock and me so he asked us to come play and Rock just said no thank you.  He then proceeded to scream, "OH!  So you can knock them up but you can't knock 'em down, eh??"  I laughed all day about that and I still laugh when I think about it...clever clever!

This past Wednesday I went to a doctor's appointment and the doctor said that she thought that Abby was head down based on where her heartbeat was detected and where I feel her hiccups AND she said that she is measuring right on the mark AND her heartbeat still sounds great in the 150s!  So, Little Lady still has good progress reports! :)  I think the doctor's refrain from telling you exactly how your baby is positioned because they still have room enough to move and they don't want to tell someone definitively that the baby is down only to find out come delivery that the baby has flipped.  I just hope little Abby's head IS in fact down and she finds that a comfy spot for at least the next four weeks...AH!  She is full term in FOUR WEEKS!!!  Someone pinch me!  It feels like yesterday I was asking Rock to come to the bathroom to see the pregnancy tests (and he was thinking I was trying to show him a BM)!  LOL!

I have totally started nesting and it is crazy...it's like this inner drive to get everything.just.right.  I have started washing all of Abby's clothing and bedding with Tide Free on an extra rinse cycle.  I know I have sensitive skin, so I can only imagine what little Abby will have.  I've also started to get all her things set up--her bassinet is built and up in our room, her monitors are filled with batteries and working and I am going to install her carseat sometime soon.

This upcoming weekend I am going to a baby shower for a friend and then the following weekend is my shower!  I am so excited to see everyone and hang out.  Jenn and I have been finalizing the last few details for the shower and it's so much fun because it's a) for Abby and b) Fall-themed...and I love both!  I have to say though that I am so glad I didn't have a big wedding because planning EVERY detail of something big would drive me CRAZY!

I went with Rock to our post Oktoberfest this past Friday and let me be the first to tell you that while bratwurst and sauerkraut will always be delicious, Oktoberfest isn't as much fun when you can't drink--write that down.  My parents were actually in Germany this past week where they paraglided, went to THE Oktoberfest and celebrated my dad's birthday!  I am jealous but happy they got to spend that time together in such a beautiful location and at such a perfect time!  They had kids right away after marrying so this is their time to be alone together, so it's great!

I took some Week 33 (and one day) pictures for you all.  I included some shots with the dogs since they follow me around like little shadows all day long.  About 99% of the time Jaz is at my feet while I take the pictures anyway, so I figured it was his way of saying he wanted to be included.  So today Jaz, you get your wish:
She's starting to pop out even more!!

She's definitely a big girl!

Here is Jaz wondering what I do at the mirror every other week.

Bella semi-interested in what I am doing...

...and the interest is gone.  Oh, and I can still see my toes!!

I will be back on here to post Week 35 pictures and may even start doing pictures weekly since she is growing by at least half a pound every week!

  1. I just showed Nana all your pics and she said she still can't get it in her head that you are pregnant. And that you only gained a belly, and you are BEAUTIFUL! We love you, it's getting close! Can't wait! XOXOXOXOXO

  2. Let me tell you, Dr Rojas swore Brennan was head down, swore. Well I had to go for an ultrasound and he was breech! When I saw him next (still breech) he felt for position and he could have sworn he was head down! I guess his little bum felt like a head lol
