I think the dress makes it look like he is higher this week but he is still super low.

I can't start off this post without showing you a funny text I received from my friend Kara from this weekend:
So there you have it...it did in fact say that as a caption under one of my photos but I changed it. It was too funny to not mention though! Thanks for letting me know, Kara!! ;)
OK, so on 10/13 Rock and I took Abby to a pumpkin patch/Fall festival here in town that is put on by a local church. Abby loves all things Halloween and pumpkins, but not as much as she likes farm animals and guess what? They had a petting zoo! The second Abby saw that, she made a beeline for the fence and that is where we spent most of our time. We also got to go on a hay ride and see some ghosts, witches and monsters or as Abby calls them "dhosts, weetches and monshtures." And no, she's not dressed up in super cute Fall/pumpkin picking clothes because it was around 80 degrees that day and I have a SUPER hot-blooded child (in more ways than one haha!), but we had a great time and really enjoyed watching Abby enjoy herself and love on all the animals.
Honestly not sure what type of bird this is, but the lady from the ranch (on the left) loved Abby so she kept bringing her animals to hold and Abby loved it!
GOAT!
Pretty sure Abby wanted to take this baby chick home with us.
I think this chick appreciated Abby being gentle and calm with it especially after being manhandled by most the kids in the petting zoo.
Right before her time in the petting zoo was up, the ranch hand brought her this full-sized chicken and Abby held him like it was no big deal...my daughter, the chicken whisperer.
This past weekend we made a day trip to Austin to see Rock's sister, her husband, his cousin and our niece and nephew. We went to Salt Lick BBQ and had a good time chatting and catching up. Abby loved all the attention and as usual, her Tia Frances brought tons of gifts to spoil her with. It was great seeing everyone and Abby had such a good time that the second we got in the car to come home, she passed straight out:
Look how much she's changed since when she passed out in the car on the way to Salt Lick in May:

Then in the middle of the week, we got a surprise package from my friend Brittney full of birthday goodies for Abby and even some surprises for Mr. Shane! Abby was thrilled with all her presents! Thank you again, Brittney!!:

So, out of nowhere in that last three days or so, Abby has started to not be tired at her usual 12-1:30 nap time (as evidenced by her refusing to lay still at all when I try to get her to nap at that time) and instead will play until she is nice and tired and then she'll stop playing, come up to me and say "Mommy, I tired. I shweep." And then she will tell me she wants me to bring her upstairs so she can nap. The only caveat is that she wants to nap in our bed, but I mean, who am I to say no to that when it usually takes her 30-45 minutes to fall asleep for a nap?! Right now she is napping away on a self-initiated nap and I am in a little bit of disbelief. We'll see how long this lasts, but I will enjoy it while it does!
My little napping love.
Speaking of napping, I will leave you of this picture of Rock and Abby. A baby sleeping on Rock's chest is his kryptonite and it puts him to sleep every time. I love it because I get to sneak lots of cute photos of the napping pair:
