1) "Oopsy-Bella" for oopsy-daisy (our dog Bella does get in a lot of trouble so I can see the logical connection here)
2) "Hi morning" for good morning
3) "Bear" for gum (this one is a little tricky to see the logic but we think it is because of "gummy bears")
4) "Help it" for help or help me
5) "I need it" for I would like it
6) "Cinder White" is what she calls herself when dressed up as a princess.
7) "Prissmas" for Christmas (aka Princess Christmas)
8) "Huhler" for coloring
9) "What doing, Mom?" for what are you doing...usually shouted out to me when I am not in view
10) "I hold you" for pick me up. For example, she'll say "I hold you, Daddy!" when she wants Rock to carry her up the stairs.
11) "Tiana" for Bandaid because the very first set of bandaids she ever had were Princess Tiana bandaids and now she associates all bandaids with Tiana. The other day she found a scab on Rock's leg and said "Oh no, Daddy...a boo-boo. You need Tiana??" And that turned Rock into big pile of Daddy goo.
12) "I am so teeny, HOOOOLD ME!" a lyric of a song Abby made up while singing and dancing around the kitchen.
13) "My handsome." This phrase came into her vocabulary when I would show Abby a picture of her Daddy whenever she was missing him at work. I would occasionally say things like, "Here is your handsome Daddy," or "Here is a picture of Daddy. He is so handsome!" Well she started saying stuff to pictures of her dad like, "Hi, Handsome Daddy," or "Daddy is handsome." Later she heared me say that Rock was my HUSBAND and I think she generalized husband=handsome, so Rock is her handsome and he is my husband.
14) "Stop talking." Yes, my sweet little toddler says this to us. She will be watching TV or doing something that requires a parent's undivided attention (according to her) and if either one of us starts talking to the other, she will instruct us to "stop talking, Mom/Dad." We of course correct her when she says this since we can't have a little two year old directing our conversations, but it is still very Abby-Gish in nature, so I thought it belonged on the list.
15) "Trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble, TROUBLE!" sung at loud volumes. I blame Taylor Swift for this one.
16) "What happened, Mom/Dad?" This is Abby's equivalent to the ever-popular toddler "Why?" And she says it about 10,000 times a day.
17) "Nice and warm" for comfy. It could be 80 degrees out and I put her in the carseat and she'll tell me, "Mama, I nice and warm," which means she is comfy in her carseat and ready to be buckled in.
18) "Fret-ahl" for freckle.
19) "Oh-grit" for yogurt.
20) "On-ree" for hungry.
21) "Mommy-gail" is what she calls me now when she's being sassy because when she's in trouble I call her Abigail instead of Abby.
22) "Yellow-nade" for lemonade (12/23/2013)
23) "Firecorn" for popcorn (5/2015)
24) "Muddle" for muddy puddle
25) "Jumpoline" for trampoline
There is no one like my Abby G!
