If I look a little upset in all my pictures, I apologize. It is because I have a pretty bad head cold right now and don't feel very well.
So I had my weekly NST and AFI and everything looked good so I headed to my appointment with the midwife and she said everything was OK and said Shane was measuring 39 weeks (I was 38 Weeks 5 Days at the time) in fundal height so maybe he changed position and was higher this time? Who knows, but obviously fundal height measurements aren't an exact science.
The midwife didn't do a cervical check because she said that it doesn't really tell them much, especially with second time moms, and that it isn't a very comfortable procedure, so they try to keep it to a minimum. I was totally fine with that because she is right, they are not comfortable and I know some women who walked around at 4 cm dilation for 3 weeks and some who were 0 cm when they went into labor, so it really isn't a good indicator for much.
I was telling my friend Katie the other day that I feel nothing as far as intuition on when the delivery day will come or any big signs that labor is near. I keep trying to tell myself that I just need to relax and let him come when he is ready, but that is so much easier said than done.
An induction is scheduled for me for next Friday, but if I am still pregnant for my next OB appointment on Wednesday 1/16, I am going to ask if they think it is really all that necessary since my blood pressures have been fine and because Shane is still looking good in the womb.
I will keep everyone as updated as possible and if I have the presence of mind, I will try to write a quick blog post to let people know we are headed in for labor and delivery! I can't wait to meet Shane, whenever he decides to come!
