Abby Update

Today I took Abby to "Mother Goose on the Loose" at our local library and while it was fun, it was super, ridiculously crowded!  There were parents and kids everywhere and at one point I felt someone grabbing my rear and looked down to discover some 5 year old little boy.  I am hoping he thought I was his mother, which still doesn't make that any less weird but anyway...

The class is scheduled at 10, so Abby and I got to the library at 9:45 so we could return old books, get new books and still have time to get to the classroom on time.  Only to discover that apparently they don't start the class until 10:15 (?) and even though I had to sign Abby up 4 weeks ago per the instructions on the flyer, they apparently actually take anyone that wants to go, so it was wall-to-wall people.  I wanted to take lots of pictures, but I didn't even get a chance to breathe because I was watching Abby so closely to make sure she wasn't stepping on toddlers or newborns or trying to leave the room.  Luckily they offer a 9 AM class and since they start late, I don't think that will be a problem getting to it on time.

A picture from this morning just for fun, 7 weeks 4 days

Abby has been growing so quickly!  She LOVES farm animals and reading books about them and seeing them in person.  She can make all the animal sounds plus a few cute extras (e.g., Q: What sound does a shark make? A: "Raaaaaaaawr!!").  She also has been putting words together in sentences and in creative ways.  For example, the other day she was looking at Bella's eye boogers and all of a sudden she said, "Ewwwww!  Mom!  EYE BUG!"  Rock and I were very amused by this choice of words because it is actually pretty accurate.

Reading about animals while I make dinner

She is also very good at opening doors and we were scared at first but quickly discovered we could couple this new skill with her love for the dogs and have her let the dogs in and out of the backyard to go potty.  It is awesome when I am not feeling 100% and I don't have to get up to take care of them.  She also helps put their food in their bowls in the morning and learned how to hold down the hose handle so she can get them more water.  Her good deeds aren't without an Abby-Gish twist though because when she is getting them more water, for example, some person/some dog/our house usually end up with a liberal sprinkling of water, too!

Being silly and giggling on the floor

She also still likes to help with chores with sweeping being her favorite.  I promise I don't force any of this stuff on her (yet) and she does it all on her own volition!

She also loves to be outside especially if water or her pool are involved.  If she had her way she would NEVER come inside during the day.

Silly girl, leaning backwards off the dog run

Giving the monkey on her swimsuit some water

Too cool for pictures

She is also still very Abby-Gish.  For example, she received a pair of pink cowboy boots from her Great Grandma and wears them all day long whether she is dressed or in her jammies.  They were made for this kid!

Kicking back with her boots and her Daddy

She continues to amaze us and we are looking forward to spending a lot of quality time with her before Baby Stevens #2 arrives in January.

Daddy fell asleep after a long day so Abby crawled up next to him to cuddle

I just got a call from the hospital and my ultrasound is scheduled for June 16th.  The lady was awesome and scheduled the u/s on a Saturday so Rock could come without taking time off of work!  I am so excited to see BS2!
