36 Weeks 2 Days pregnant with Abby 2010
I apologize for the barrage of photos, but one thing I wish I had done more with Abby's pregnancy is take more photos from all different positions, so I want to be sure to do that with this pregnancy before it's over!
Abby's Texas Christmas outfit
As you can see in the comparison between Shane and Abby's pregnancy photos from the same stage, Shane is still MUCH lower and he sticks out a little more (probably due to the muscles already being stretched out from Abby's pregnancy). I definitely think he is shaping up to be a bigger baby than Abby, who was born at 8 pounds even. I got to see Shane's sweet little face today at my AFI ultrasound and he sure does have some chubby cheeks! I am just glad that the bigger baby is coming after my first so things aren't as hard on mommy.
Rock, his cousin Adriana, and Princess Abby G before the military ball.
Besides seeing Shane's chubber cheeks, I got to see him sucking on his lip which just about melted my heart. It was so sweet to watch him and his umbilical cord was right in front of his mouth, so I think he was practicing his nursing skills on that. I think he'll be a cuddly little guy because in a lot of the ultrasounds I have had so far, he is holding his umbilical cord near to his face and just snuggling. I can't wait to meet him! And he still looks SO much like Abby, it just amazes me. It is like seeing a chubbier version of little newborn Abby G whenever I see him. The nurse practitioner tried to print off some pictures of the amazing views we were getting of his face, but for some reason the machine printed off the last frame which was just a normal side profile that she was looking at to see his umbilical cord, so it was nothing worth scanning to show since you can barely see anything.
This smile on my precious little Princess Reindeer makes me giggle every time I see it because it looks so much like this:

The NST was really good, with my blood pressure staying consistently in the 120/70s (which is better than "average"!!) the whole time! Because my BPs have been so good my doctor told me that I can see a midwife for my routine OB appointments now and that if everything stays good, I won't even have to see a doctor at all at delivery time. YES!!!!
Investigating something she found under the table.
I have Shane and myself pretty much packed and ready to go to the hospital. When it is time to go, all I'll have to do is grab my makeup bag and pillow, and I will be ready! I am being super conservative packing this time because last time I packed everything on the hospital recommendation list and it turned out they provided everything except clothing for mommy and baby to go home in. I didn't need to bring diapers, slippers, wipes, pads, underwear...everything was given to me. So this time I just packed a carry-on bag with just the essentials. I hope this will save a lot of space in the recovery room, because last time it was a snug fit with a full-sized suitcase full of stuff I didn't really need.
Rock's parents are coming up from Houston for Christmas and then we will celebrate New Year's Eve alone as a family. I am looking forward to celebrating because I know it brings us one day closer to meeting Shane!
I hope everyone has an amazing holiday season! Merry Christmas!
Merry "PrissMas" aka Princess Christmas which is what Abby calls the holiday.
