We had a great week and loved seeing Rock so much since he was working half days. Rock also started the tradition of making a gingerbread house with Abby the way he used to do as a child. Although I have to say that Abby was a little more interested in eating all the materials than she was about making the house.
Helping Daddy put the gum drops on.
Being sassy as usual.
The finished project! I think they did great considering the house almost got devoured by a sweet-driven 2 year old!
On Christmas, Rock's parents came up from Houston and we opened gifts and had a Mexican fiesta for dinner complete with tamales, Mexican rice made by Rock's Tia Lupe, and menudo. It was so good and we all were stuffed after the meal.
Abby received a lot of great presents that are great for open-ended, imaginative play, as well as creative play (e.g., coloring), and about 15 new books for her library! I was really proud of her Christmas stash because I know how much fun she will have playing with everything and it makes me feel good to know that she will be learning at the same time! She also took about 2 hours to open all her presents because she'd open one, play with it and then move on to the next present. It was actually really nice to take Christmas morning slow and not rush anything. I wonder if next year will be different with a 3 year old and an almost 1 year old!
Note Daddy and Abby wrote to Santa.
Best.Christmas.picture.ever. "No more Abby pictures, MOM!"
So excited about her doggy vet kit...
...that she can hardly control herself!
Present opening break to practice contortionist skills.
Mommy and Abby opening gifts together...Sandra Boynton books box set!
Eating Christmas breakfast--Nutella croissant!
Princess Chef saying "No pictures, Mom!" She is in for disappointment if she thinks I will stop taking pictures of her now!
At work in her kitchen.
The feast Princess Chef prepared for me.
Abby's Christmas self-portrait from my iPhone.
Christmas cuddles with Grandma and Grandpa Stevens
I had another NST and AFI today and everything looked great. Shane was hiding his face with his hand but I got to see his little fist and it looked so chubby! I even saw his little baby fingernails! I can't wait to meet and hold him.
That reminds me, I added a poll on the side of the page asking when you think Shane will get here...don't forget to vote!!
