Oh.my.nesting! The compulsion to get the "nest" prepared and have everything just right for baby has hit me strong this past week. I have been running around like crazy putting together Shane's bouncy chair and swing; washing all his clothes and hanging them up in the closet; getting his dresser stocked full of clean blankets, socks, hats, and jammies; packing his hospital bag; and getting all his diapering stuff ready for him. I feel like even once I am completely done with one project, it isn't enough and I feel compelled to immediately start the next one...I even wake up in the middle of the night thinking about things I need to do before he comes.
It is funny because a few days ago I went back and looked at my blogs from when I was pregnant with Abby and the nesting bug bit at the exact same time with her, as well--right at 33 Weeks!

Rock understands that nesting is a biological urge designed to help me feel secure that everything is ready in the home before I go off and give birth to our son, so he has been very supportive in helping me with my various projects or playing with Abby while I go on a cleaning/organizing binge.
I also have written and sent my doula my birth plan/preferences (here is a great example) for when I am in labor. We went over them and I feel good knowing she knows what I want out of my birth experience for both Shane and me. I think it is important to have your preferences for an ideal birth scenario but also have a plan for if your preferences can't be met (like in the case of an emergency C-section) because you'll want your doula/partner/medical staff to know what you would like in those situations, too! And it helps you feel like you have some type of say in a pretty much otherwise uncontrollable situation.
Other than that, Rock and I have just been taking care of my little Abby G. She is on Day 3 of 10 for her antibiotics for her Scarlet Fever and her rash has gone down SO much. The day I brought her to the doctor, her rash was so red and extensive on her back that it looked like she had a really bad sunburn! Now she has some patchy spots of rash, but it really isn't noticeable unless you are right next to her or examining her like a crazy mom (aka, me). She was feeling so much better, in fact, that last night that we took her to a drive-through Christmas light display on Fort Hood called Nature in Lights and she loved it! She kept shouting "Ho ho ho! Merry CHRISTMAS!" I love seeing her get so into the seasons!
Tomorrow Rock's mom comes for a visit and Rock and I get to go together for Shane's follow-up anatomy ultrasound in the afternoon. I can't wait to see my little man and see how he is doing in there!
Have a great week!

Scarlet fever! What! So glad your Abby G is feeling better.
