And We're Off?

So, I had pretty bad cramping all night and without going into too much detail I had my "show" this morning at 2:30 AM and called the doctor and because they want to check out any bleeding in pregnancy, they are having me come in and it is now 5:40 AM.

The cramping has gone down a bit but the nurse I talked to said that because we are scheduled for induction anyway tonight, chances are they'll just keep us there.  Rock and I are running around trying to get everything together before we leave.

Hopefully the next time I write it will be to announce Miss Abby's arrival!

**ADDENDUM**
OK, so we have good news--the cramping was actually a precursor to full-on contractions and it did its job by opening up my cervix to 2 cm.  I went in to the hospital and my doctor checked me and said that since I was dilating by myself and was already at 2 cm that I didn't need the first drug they were going to give me to induce.  That means instead of going in tonight and getting the first drug and then waiting 12 hours, Rock and I are going to go back at the crack of dawn tomorrow to start the induction with pitocin.  My doctor said that while first time moms can labor for up to 48 hours, based on his exam he thinks that we'll be holding Abby by some time tomorrow!  He said that it was a great sign my body was dilating on its own and even better to just let it labor naturally before trying any drugs because the more in can open by itself the more successful an induction via pitocin would be.  So that is where we are...just waiting and hoping that my body continues to labor naturally on its own and that by tomorrow, perhaps after a little help from pitocin, we'll be cuddling with Abigail Stevens! :)
