Home

We are finally home!  We got home last night around 8 PM and were so grateful to be out of the hospital!  Not because the hospital personnel weren't great, but because they were SO efficient and checked on their patients so much, we were interrupted about every 15 minutes so any solid period of sleep was near impossible.  I felt very taken care of and looked after, but we still wanted to be home.

They had to check Abby's bilirubin levels because she was a bit jaundice and we found out that because she is blood type A+ and I am O+, my body made antibodies to her A antigens (i.e., proteins on surface of her blood cells that make her type A) and they crossed the placenta and attacked her blood.  They said her bilirubin levels were below the dangerous level but still a bit elevated so they wanted to keep an eye on it.  That is why we didn't get out until so late yesterday.

We went to the doctor's office today and he said besides the slight jaundice that everything else looks great.  Now we are just going to keep an eye on her bilirubin levels and we are praying everything gets resolved naturally--pooping is the way to get it out of your system so the more poops the BETTER! :)

Thanks again for all your thoughts, prayers and love!  We are so blessed!  I will close with some pictures of our homecoming and one of my precious (naked) baby in her daddy's arms!
